A time traveler, walking along the narrow, unpaved roads of Yemmiganur of yore, would not imagine in his wildest dreams that those very roads would one day lead the way to the creation of a business the size and stature of MGB Group.
The MGB Group came into being in the mid-1980s. Stewarded by Shri M R Gangadhar, the group has a combined annual turnover in excess of Rs.600 crores. With a 2000 plus workforce, MGB Group has interests in diverse businesses. Today, the Group has established a significant presence in key sectors of the economy—automobile and petroleum dealerships, retail, real estate, and construction. More recently, it has successfully forayed into the shopping mall space in Nellore with the launch of MGB Felicity Mall, in 2016.
In 1984, when Machani Ramanna took the step to realign the family’s business with the intention of growing the existing businesses further, Shri Gangadhar took charge of what is today the MGB Group, as its managing partner. Back then, it comprised just three automobile dealerships—Telco in Nellore, Ongole, and Chittoor; Royal Enfield in Nellore (till 1986); and TAFE in Nellore, Chittoor, and Guntur (till 1992).
With a clear and steady vision and successful implementation of well thought out plans, Shri Gangadhar has steered the Group to its present status. The Group comprises two companies — MG Brothers Automobiles Private Limited (MGBA), MG Brothers Industries Private Limited (MGBI) — that represent its interests in a mixed business portfolio of automobile and petroleum dealership, real estate, construction and retail sectors. The Group’s businesses are spread across centers in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
